Spiritual Weapons For Earthly Revolutions

author | Mack Major

» How many of you realize that Jesus didn't come here to start a religion—He came to start a revolution?

"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the GOVERNMENT will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH has been given to Me.'" Matthew 28:18

(That word for authority means the power to rule in governmental matters.)

"For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet." 1 Corinthians 15:25

"From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17

The gospel of the Kingdom is a political and a cultural message. There's no escaping this. The gospel doesn't stop at just being relevant only to those who gather around a church altar on a Sunday morning church service.

It's relevant to every aspect and area of human life: politics, economics, ecology, justice, culture, and yes—religion too.

But too many people only find God's Kingdom message a comfortable place to occupy when it's in a religious atmosphere. The reality is: you cannot cage God in. You cannot keep Jesus Christ out of the political sphere.

The political and cultural spheres are the main things He came for.

"Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him ALL the KINGDOMS of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, 'All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.'” Matthew 4:8-9

» Notice how the devil never showed Jesus all the SOULS in the world? Even Satan knows Jesus came for politics. Otherwise, this wouldn't have been a temptation.

Satan doesn't really care how many people become Christians. And he cares little for how many new churches we start. We have millions of Christians and churches galore in America alone: yet look at how far society continues to slip into ever declining layers of darkness. We can barely make a dent in shifting the culture from darkness to light.

And it's not because the darkness is increasing. It's because Christians are retreating.

What worries the devil is when Christians become as active in government, business, academia and politics as we are in Church. That's when he gets nervous.

Because the devil understands something many of us have yet to figure out:

when Christians break out of their self-imposed bubbles and start to get militant in exercising power in tangible ways outside of just the church spectrum, there's nothing all the powers in Hell can do to stop us. We will literally take over.

And that's something satan does NOT want.

"Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18

Unfortunately, too many believers are betting on the Antichrist taking over instead, and have therefore given up the onward push—while they hand territory over to evil willingly.

The devil has beaten their spirits down to the point where they don't even see a reason to fight. So they just lay down, and let evil walk all over them and the next generation; thereby letting all that power and authority given to them by Jesus go to complete waste.

» Christians used to build colleges all over the United States. Where do you think most of our Ivy League universities came from? They were built by Christians! Now those same colleges are being used to kick God out of the consciousness of those who walk through their gates, turning students into evangelists of anti-God rhetoric and atheistic ideologies that steal hope and faith from young people across the globe.

All of this is happening because believers have become so rapture-minded that they're no longer any Kingdom good!

Christ wants our focus HERE...on EARTH. Heaven and the end times can take care of itself.

But He left us here to carry on His work of kicking devils and demons out of towns, villages, cities, nations and countries. Jesus didn't just focus on the poor and needy. He touched every layer of society: leadership, authorities, the wealthy, businessmen.

Why aren't you doing the same?

You really want to help the poor? Get into politics! Go into business and make enough money to feed your old neighborhood if that's what you want. It'll probably ruin the people living there if you did: but at least you'll be showing up and making a powerful impression.

It's more effective to empower the poor to be able to feed themselves than to provide them with daily bread from bread pantries. We've got to stop being weaklings, acting powerless and anticipating evil, and start stepping into our destiny as powerful agents of societal change at ALL levels.

But this will only happen when we get out of the comforts of our church groups and start walking confidently into areas outside of church that desperately need the atmosphere of Christ's Kingdom to show up there.

Lastly, evangelical and pentecostal believers love talking about binding and loosing.

"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

Believers have been known to gather in prayer groups as they lift their voices high making declarations of binding the devil. Yet, the devil goes about conducting his business of evil and terror as usual.

You know why? Because binding and loosing are VERBS. They're action words. We don't bind the devil by just speaking it. We bind the devil when we step into the voting booth and vote those who are pushing his policies and agendas out of office.

Binding and loosing literally means that as believers, Heaven will back us when we make a firm decision to run Satan and any demonic minion out of power. We have the right and the power to block anything on Earth that opposes the will of God: and we can loose those things currently being held up from manifesting on Earth that would lead to righteousness and peace.

Putting it simply: God will permit what we permit to happen on Earth. And God will forbid what we forbid. The power's not up to God. It's really up to us.

"And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end." Luke 1:33

"Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him." Daniel 7:27
